Tingtel is a Lagos based company which give user the ability to buy, transfer and even sell airtime instantly.
The only downside about Tingtel is they currently only support android devices at the moment, hopefully to roll out support for other devices.

Installation
Enough talk, let’s get into the topic. You get started by downloading the app (Open PlayStore, search for “TingTel” and then click install), or click here and you would be redirected to the app on PlayStore.
Registration
- Open up the app and register by filling in your correct necessary details.
- A four digit passcode would be required to login, enter your desired passcode and would be asked to re-enter it again to verify.
- The next page would be the page to fill in your number (in this case an MTN – the number you over recharged). The app would read the device and automatically fill in the sim number in the device.
- If you make use of a dual sim device and wish to use the other number, click the “SKIP THIS SIM” else click “NEXT” button to proceed using the inserted number.
- A One Time Pin (OTP) would be send to the number and if it in the device, it would be read automatically.
- You would receive a message you’ve successfully registered.
Convert Airtime into Cash

1. On the app, you would be required to sign in by entering your passcode
you choose earlier.
- 2.You would then be taken to the dashboard where you can perform several
transactions like Airtime Buy, Airtime Fund, Airtime Transfer, Airtime Sell
e.t.c.
* Airtime Buy – Purchasing of Airtime using your bank card directly for one self or a third party (On Tingtel or Phone Number) on the app.
* Airtime Fund – Funding phone using other method listed in the app.
* Airtime Transfer – Airtime transfer to someone phone number or on Tingtel.
* Airtime Sell – Selling airtime (transfer to bank account).
* Airtime QR – A unique QR code for your registered network on the app.
* Airtime Bill – Bill payment like Internet Services(Airtime and Data), Utility, Cable TV, Betting.
- We are concern about selling our airtime, click on the “Airtime Sell“.
- On the next page, we need to add in our beneficiary.
NB: A Beneficiary is your bank account or the person receiving the converted cash bank account. - Select your bank and input in your account number, the account name would be generated to confirm and then click “Next“.
- Now, select your sim, enter the amount you wish to sell and the convenience fee would be displayed (charge for selling).
NB: In this case, #300 is the amount we are selling and the convenience fee is #100, making #400 in total. That means #400 would be deducted from your sim 300 would be sent to the beneficiary you choose.
- Optionally, if you need to write a piece of message, you could add little note to it and then hit the “Transfer” button to sell the airtime.
- A pop up would appear requesting for your pin.
NB: The pin been requested here is your MTN share pin and not the passcode chosen for the app. If your pin is changed from the default pin “0000”, you would have to change it to your desired pin you can easily remember.
- Clicking on “What is my PIN?” would get you the above image on the left explaining how to reset your pin.
- After successful pin reset, you should get a message like the right image above.
- On the transfer page, ticking on the checkbox would save you stress of inputting the pin for every future transactions, and then hit “Transfer“.
- If all processes were follow correctly, you would get a success transaction pop up message.
Below is the transactional alert of #400 sent to the bank few minutes after it was completed on the app.
How to fix Error
You get the above error message, that means you are yet to change your default MTN share pin (in this case). Kindly follow the displayed information/instruction as it is all you need.
